Original antique prints: no reproductions.

Every work you see here is an original antique print, created between the 16th and 18th centuries using hand-engraved plates and traditional printing presses.

These are not reproductions.
Each piece was printed, colored, and handled by hand centuries ago, survived wars and travel, and is now preserved in the Sonoran Desert.

I personally examine, research, and curate every print from its historical context to its physical condition, so you can collect with confidence.

Take your time.

  • Biblio Sonora is a Tucson based gallery and research project focused on original European prints from the Renaissance and Baroque periods.

We specialize in works created before modern reproduction. Engravings and woodcuts that were printed and often colored by hand, intended to circulate knowledge in an age before photography and mass printing. Each piece is selected for its historical importance, craftsmanship, and survival across centuries.

Our goal is to place these works into thoughtful private collections and study environments where they can continue to be preserved and understood.

  • We work carefully and deliberately.

Every print is physically examined, researched, and described with attention to both its historical context and its condition today. We value clarity, provenance, and responsible stewardship over volume or speed.

While modern tools may assist in communicating history, the objects themselves are real, original, and centuries old. Our responsibility is to act as custodians who connect the past to the present without distortion.

  • Our work is informed by long standing relationships with antiquarian dealers, private collectors, and institutional partners in Europe and the United States.

We collaborate with experienced print and rare book dealers, as well as museum professionals and scholars, who share a commitment to authenticity, scholarship, and preservation.

Whether a work enters a private collection, a research library, or an institutional setting, we approach each piece with the same care and respect.
